Building Safety’s Little Heroes: Teaching Southend Children About Fire Safety

Blake Contractors Ltd was delighted to team up with South Essex Homes for a fantastic children’s drawing competition. Incorporating their creativity and sharing important safety messages.

All young residents in the community were invited to take part by creating imaginative drawings based on safety themes.

The competition attracted many wonderful entries, making the judging process by Ian Blake, Sarah Francis and staff from South Essex Homes exciting, but very difficult. All judges were very impressed by the effort, and artistic ideas and safety awareness shown by the children who entered.

Four talented winners were selected, and Blake’s were honoured to award gift vouchers for their brilliant efforts.

The prize presentation took place on a beautiful day at the Civic Centre in Southend, where Martin Blake, Sarah and staff from South Essex Homes along with the Deputy Mayor Anne Jones, attended to present prizes and celebrate with the young winners.
